We’re live-blogging from all the London 2012 Olympic attractions! Check out the latest updates on Slovakia House here – and you can leave feedback on your visit below.
Come and celebrate the Olympics Slovakian style with Slovak beer on tap, live concerts, and street dance and theatre performances at the Slovak House at 80 Haymarket.
Throughout the duration of the Games, street dance and street theatre will be the focal point with ‘Slovakia’s Got Talent’ winners Old School Brothers performing hip-hop dance and break dance every day. The ‘SLOVACTORS’ will also be performing a theatre piece every day, which focuses on Slovak traditions linked to the present, especially the sports.
There is also plenty of music for visitors to enjoy. First, witness ‘Silvayovci’, a Slovakian folk band who like to merge traditional and modern music. Or check out the brilliant double act of guitar player Juraj Burian and talented young singer Andrea Zimányiová. there’s also the AMC Jazz Trio or and the all-girl trio called ‘Xplosion’, which will impress with their virtuoso violin pieces inspired by Irish and Slovak folk music.
You can join in all this fun for free every day between 12pm and 10pm. From 10pm till 3am, free entry requires a Slovak passport, national ID card or driver’s licence.
