Africa’s most populous country will add to your Olympic experience, by presenting unique cultural attractions at Nigeria House at the Theatre Royal in Stratford East.
This is an ideal opportunity to experience live entertainment from a list of Nigerian stars. Among the highlights will be performances from star acts like Wizboyy, who has been number one on over 30 Nigerian radio charts, and musical phenomenon King Sunny Ade, who is respected around the world.
Music is not the only attraction, as you can also take in one of the many Nigerian theatre performances. They include Prof. Wole Soyinka’s “The Lion and the Jewel”, which depicts the difficulties within Nigerian culture and social life. On July 31, Soyinka, who is one of Nigeria’s most influential activists and artists, will visit the Nigeria House and enlighten visitors about his extraordinary life.
Nigeria House will also be used to showcase some of the best literature, poetry and art the country has to offer with a wide range of books from Nigerian authors.
Most attractions will be free, but some require tickets. For more information see here.
