As hosts of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, Russia is keen to show off with their London 2012 attraction. The interactive Sochi.Park (part of Russia.Sochi.Park) does just that, as it showcases the beauty of the country and what we can expect from the hosts in two years.
Immediately when you walk in, you’ll see a warm “Welcome to Russia” sign, and have the chance to leave your personal mark on the wall of fame. A short video gives you a glimpse into Russia’s culture. Ever drive a Formula 1 race car? Have that once-in-a-lifetime (virtual) experience at Russia.Sochi.Park, then have a virtual snowball fight with the Sochi Games’ snow leopard mascot!
Step into the Russian railway system and experience what it will be like to ride the train in 2014. The interactive rooms feature virtual snowboarding, skiing, ice hockey and a bobsledding simulator showing you the perspective of the bobsledder. There’s even a special surprise that you’ll have to go there to find out about!
Visitors will also get their own chance to be in the spotlight. Pose with the London Olympic torch that was carried by a Russian official in the torch relay, and snap a photo in the official Sochi 2014 bobsled.
Finally, just after you see a short Sochi 2014 4D video, you’ll hear all about a few Sochi 2014 sponsors in the interactive installation art gallery. Don’t forget to grab a souvenir on the way out! Visitors will receive a complementary Sochi 2014 pin from in the gallery when you like Baltika Beer’s Facebook page right there.
As well, a Russian Cossack choir will occasionally put on singing/dancing performances throughout the London 2012 Games. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time, but music will a regular part of the events at Russia.Sochi.Park.
