It was a great showing for Britain’s track cyclists at the 2012 Olympic test event, taking place at London’s Olympic Park recently. The home team took home five gold medals and set a new world record. Beijing 2008 Gold Medalist Victoria Pendleton earned that world record in dramatic fashion, joined by teammate Jess Varnish. Britain’s other golden athlete from the 2008 Games, Chris Hoy, also took home gold. In doing so, he managed to set a personal event best much to the delight of the fans. Australia came a close second with four gold medals and Germany had two.
